Introducing Nordstrom’s New Style Card Feature

August 15th, 2012  |  Published in In Our Closet, Men's Fashion, Need To Know, Shopping, Women's Fashion  |  4 Comments

A few weeks ago Nordstrom approached us with a secret project in Beta, asking if we’d be interested in testing it out. Of course we wanted to give our readers the opportunity to see this new project first, so here it is: The Nordstrom Style Card.

Essentially, it’s a program that allows readers to find similar items featured on their favorite fashion blogs. While we try to tell you where we purchase all items featured here on the EC, sometimes “thrifted” isn’t very helpful. Well, Nordstrom is here to help you recreate the look.

So check out our looks below and the items we curated from Nordstrom. Shop by price point and/or brand, click on items you want to add to your outfit, and purchase. It’s as easy as that. Click on the banner for both Adria and Travis’ looks to get started!

Now that you’ve seen it, what do you think? Tell us in the comments!

So cool! I just love it. Do you pick the clothes at nordstroms or is it an automated program?

Hey Heather! It’s a bit of both, we find search terms to find the items that make the most sense, but then we weed and mash items from those search results together to curate the looks. There were a bit of hiccups for Adria’s card so all the paisley bottoms she wanted couldn’t get in, but that’s to be expected when it’s in beta. Thanks for your support, glad you like it!

Is that a kind of purse? I love it. That’s cool! :) very useful, you won’t misplace that because you can put a fingers of the circles. I love this.

Thanks Lucille! It is a purse, clutch to be precise. The finger holes ARE very practical, makes up for not having a wrist strap.
