Oxblood Fall Look

October 24th, 2012  |  Published in Accessories, Contests & Giveaways, Shoes, Style Guides, Trends, Women's Fashion |  Add a comment

We’re totally obsessed with the oxblood color invading the fashion scene this season. We’re especially obsessed with these ankle booties from MANGO, so when we saw the brand was hosting a contest on Polyvore we figured we’d try out hand at our ideal fall look.

We envision this worn with minimal face makeup minus a bold oxblood lip and a messy chignon. Style details would include the white shirt under the dress, with the collar and cuffs popping out. What do you think? We say bring on the sartorial season of the year.

Lambs Ear Shoes for Covet Fridays

September 14th, 2012  |  Published in Covet Fridays, Designers, Men's Fashion, Shoes, Shopping, Women's Fashion |  Add a comment

Lambs Ear is a local boutique in Fremont, known for carefully curated fashion finds for mostly women. While their jewelry and vintage pieces are lust worthy, we absolutely love its spread of shoes.

All of its collection from brands like A Détacher and Zeha Berlin is specifically chosen by owner, Angie Sorenson, based on craftsmanship, design and material. We find it great that it stepped into the men’s space by offering a select number of shoes designed by Zeha Berlin. It’s collection will set you back a few hundred dollars, but it’s impeccably made, is classic, and will make a statement. Here are some of our favorite looks from it’s current collection – which are your favorites?

Columbus, Ohio Street Style

pops of color accessories

Adria went to Columbus, Ohio last week for a marketing conference and came across this fashionable duo while eating lunch at the North Market. She noticed the gentleman’s sock first, hot pink glimpsing from underneath his pants as he got out of a car. They seemed quite alarmed to be stopped on the street (not used to it much in Columbus?), but we loved their pops of color paired with a very work-appropriate look.

We spotted the shoes first. And then the scarf. We love how this Fremont Farmer’s Market vendor used a neutral backdrop for her handmade scarves. The pop of color and quality craftsmanship is mind blowingly bold and feminine. We unfortunately cannot remember the name of this vendor, but you know where to get ‘em if you’re interested.

Snapette: App Worth Knowing About

July 18th, 2012  |  Published in Accessories, Need To Know, Reviews, Shoes, Shopping, Trends, Web Wednesdays, Women's Fashion  |  2 Comments

We’re changing up Web Wednesdays this week to bring you an app you should know about. Especially if you like Pinterest, listen up.

Have you heard of Snapette? It’s like Pinterest for shopping on the go. Created by Sarah and Jinhee as part of a Harvard start-up competition, it encourages users to snap photos of shoes and handbags they find while out shopping. It aggregates these looks into a Pinterest-like view board, allowing shoppers to browse items near them and share cool finds with their followers.

Not interested in the app? Snapette is also available online, where you can browse before heading out to go shopping or just look at the eye candy uploaded from the users in over 130 different countries. The only drawback with the online version is that browsing by location isn’t as intuitive as we would like, but overall you’ll see a lot of Instagram-eque photos of drool-worthy shopper curated inspiration.
